A three-wheeled, functional demonstrator to test components, driving dynamics and energy efficiency. To evaluate driving stability, Ecoist initially equipped #01 with 3 x 12 VDC (36 VDC nominal) AGM batteries. That gave it a top speed of 50 km/h and a range of 45 km, which was not enough to drive on their test track.
Ecoist turned to EVES AB (at the time EVEC) for the development of a new LiFePO4 battery system, which included everything from engineering the battery boxes to choosing and installing the battery management system. The outcome was a success, giving the vehicle a top speed of 105 km/h and a total range of up to 150 km in traffic on a single charge.
